This webinar provides an overview of the role of ombudsman programs in integrated care programs serving dually eligible individuals. Using the ombudsman programs developed for the demonstrations under the Financial Alignment Initiative as an example, the webinar examines ways that states have structured these programs, the types of supports that they can offer, and the value they provide to both consumers and state Medicaid agencies.

Historical Part A and B Entitlement Data

This webinar describes what Medicare and Medicaid data are publicly available and some simple tools that states can use to begin to explore these data. For states that are ready to undertake more in-depth analyses of Medicare data, the State Data Resource Center describes no-cost technical assistance resources that can help states to access, analyze, and interpret Medicare data.

This webinar covers resources and strategies available to states to begin or improve their oversight of Dual Eligible Special Needs Plans (D-SNPs). Presenters provide an overview of the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services’ (CMS) publicly available D-SNP performance monitoring resources and share approaches used by Oregon and Tennessee to incorporate performance monitoring and oversight requirements into D-SNP contracts.

This webinar describes four new quality measures specifically designed for use by Medicaid managed long-term services and supports (MLTSS) plans, which address comprehensive assessments, comprehensive care plans, shared care plans with primary care practitioners, and reassessments and care plans after an inpatient discharge.

The presentation also discusses the technical operation considerations for enrollment of beneficiaries in Medicare-Medicaid Plans (MMPs).

This webinar provides a history of seamless conversion and describes the new process for default enrollment that will start in 2019. This webinar also explains states’ roles in this process, including the need to identify beneficiaries newly eligible for Medicare.
